My Baby Girl

Am I really going to have a six month old? My little Sophie is 24 weeks old today but is actually six months old July 8. I really could just cry. I'd like her to stay this way forever. She is so cute and has the best little personality. Here's a few Sophie facts...

She has serious separation anxiety.
If a stranger talks to her she gets bashful and turns and hides her face in Cory's neck.
If Cory and I aren't in her direct sight she has a melt down. However, she smiles at everyone she see's.
She talks, and talks, and talks.
She grabs for anything (like my soda's) and throws a minor tantrum if she can't reach it (or if I move it out of her reach).
She could probably play in the bathtub all day. She kicks, splashes, and squeals from the second I lay her in the tub.
She must have a washcloth in her hands at all times to suck on while she's bathing.
She hates a wet or dirty diaper.
She loves foot rubs with lotion and coo's while I'm doing it.
She hyperventilates when she see's her bottle being made. I'm not kidding.
She squeals and shrieks when she spots our dog, Mherra.
She kicks like crazy and gets a huge smile when you walk in to get her from nap.
She arches her back and puts her hands in the air when you reach down to pick her up.
She grabs my nose, lips, eyes, and hair when she's eating.

I could go on and on and on about all the little things she does each day that warm my heart.

I adore her.
And him too :)

Loving her double chin :) These days Sophie likes to lift her dress up and shove as much of it in her mouth as she can, hence the slobber. Hopefully she'll grow out of it by the time she's a teenager?

Daddy is sure getting the hang of things! He now knows she can't leave the house without her hair done, headband on, and matching shoes.

Sophie?
There we go...
Everyday she reminds me why its my dream to just be a mom.

P.S. Only two more sleeps until Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Brookie come!
Which is about 12 more sleeps for Sophie :)

Kisses

Since Sophie was days old I would just sit and kiss her cheeks over and over again. At first she would flinch, then she would smile, a little bit older she would giggle, then the squeals came. Now, she just looks at her daddy with the expression, "is it almost over??" Ha! I don't care. I'm going to do it until she's 30!
On Thursday night we went to a family BBQ. I picked up Cory's 2 year old great-neice, Lexi, and I sat and held her and kissed her cheeks. The second I put her down she took off!! Then kept looking over her shoulder like, "is she following me??" Haha! Oh well. I love to give kisses :) At least Sophie can't run away when I do it! Well, for now :)

I just can't help myself!

This is Lexi. She looks terrified of me, huh?? Ha!

Going Bananas!

Sophie has been eating solids for a few weeks now (rice cereal for three months). She eats mainly rice cereal, applesauce, sweet potatoes and oatmeal. I've decided to do all her baby food homemade... the only commercial food I use is the rice cereal and oatmeal. Anyway, today we tried bananas. This is the only time you will see my baby in a diaper. I think I'll try avocado's next. My baby food book says they are very nutritional and babies love them. Which is great, because I love them too :)

She started out pretty curious...

Then went crazy spreading it all over her bumbo tray... Then she actual got some into her mouth!
She took the spoon away from me...
And then decided she'd just eat it strait from the tray...
I love her.

We Love Papa!

Happy Father's Day, Cory!!

Mherra truly believes Cory is her father. I'm not kidding.
Sophie checking out the card we made for dad...

Then we headed over to my in-laws house to celebrate!

Sophie is VERY interested in Mimi. However, Mimi is scared of her.

Loving on Grandpa
Ice cream sandwiches I made. I made homemade cookies, put Moose Tracks ice cream inside, and rolled the edges in sprinkles. Yum!

Sophie sure loves her daddy. He's the one she wants most when she's upset. She gets SO excited when he walks in the door from work and makes all sorts of squeals! If we're eating dinner and have her on the table in her bouncer... she just STARES at him and I can't even get her attention! She's definitely a daddy's girl! We sure love Cory and all that he does for our family.

Also, Happy Father's Day to my dad. I love my dad so much and I am so grateful for all that he has done for me :) Oh, and I love how strong he is... haha!

Arts and Crafts

So, I love me a good craft project. Since Sophie is sleeping so much lately...

.... I'm not exaggerating.
Friday night she fell asleep at 10 pm. She woke up at 10 am= 12 hours of sleep
Fell asleep at 11:30am and woke up at 3pm= 3:30 hours
Fell back asleep at 5pm. Cory and I woke her up at 7:30= 2:30 hours
She fell asleep for the night at 11pm.

So, in a 25 hour period of time she was asleep for 18 hours. Is this normal?

ANYWAYS... back to my crafts :) I decided to spruce up our bathroom!

And, since I have little self control when it comes to crafts... I had to add some to my toothpaste holders. Why do Cory and I have 4 toothbrushes??

Then, I decided to make Sophie a skirt. Do I know how to sew? No. Did I use a pattern? No. But I did whip this baby out in 2 hours...

It looks much cuter on my model :) (Luckily she woke up for the photo shoot)

I made all 4 frames and the skirt for under $30. I have no idea if thats a good deal or not! If you want the tutorials for the 3-D flower frames just ask! Sorry all the pictures are dark but I took them with my phone instead of my camera... I have no idea why :)

I love this...

She totally has to have her leg in the air when she eats :)

Best Day Ever

Yesterday was my birthday and it was just wonderful. Cory took off work and we headed off to the Hogle Zoo! Sophie pretty much had no idea what was going on... except for watching the monkeys.

Is that a giraffe or a Soph??
Being compared to the size of an infant gorilla...

Watching the baby elephant run through the water
She did not care about the gorillas...
She think's daddy's more funny...
They had fruit bats... so they said you couldn't go in the exhibit if you had fruit that day. We assured them we didn't... after we walked out we realized Soph just had pear juice. Geeeez, good thing she didn't get attacked by a bat!

Loving the zoo

Carousel...

All by herself!

Huge skunk
Vulture

She think's Cory and I are so much funnier than all the animals.
You can't tell, but she totally loved them.
She is just too cool for those sun glasses...
I could just eat her. I freaking love this little girl.
Daddy bought her an elephant. It was actually really funny. In the store they were playing The Beatles "I wanna hold your hand" and this is what Soph did when Cory handed her the elephant. Ha!

Probably her favorite part of the zoo...
And the main attraction! These little girls just LOVED Soph! They couldn't get enough of her :)

So, that was yesterday. We got home at 10pm, gave her a bath, and she fell right asleep. She woke up this morning at 9:30... went back down for a nap at 11 and it's 1:30 and she still hasn't woken up. I think she's pooped :)

All in all it was a fantastic birthday. My husband sure does treat me well. I woke up to the whole kitchen decorated in balloons, streamers, and wonderful gifts.
Cory got me a Beach Cruiser! I've totally been wanting a bike and I love it. He also got me a nifty thing to hook on the back so Soph can ride with me :) Also, My parents got me a sewing machine and the cutest sewing box and kit. I don't even know how to sew but I'm going to learn! And, Sophie, well.... she gave me a blowout in her diaper :) She sure knows how to show her love.

Anyway... I've been DREADING turning 25... but it actually hasn't been that bad :)
